Woodlands have always held a powerful place within British culture and folklore. They are landscapes associated with ancient trees, traditional stories and a deep connection between people and the natural world. The nuthatch, moving quietly amongst the branches, is a reminder of the intricate ecosystems that exist above our heads and the importance of protecting these precious habitats.

My paintings focus on the overlooked details of nature, the subtle colours within feathers, the texture of bark, the changing quality of light and the quiet moments that reveal themselves through patience and attention.
